Karan Arjun (1995) is a Bollywood film directed by Priyadarshan and starring Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. Karan Arjun has been rated as one of the top-grossing Indian films of 1995. It is a remake of Priyadarshan's own Malayalam movie Thalavattom. He is on the run from the police and ends up taking refuge in Karan's house where he hides and takes care of the family as if they were his own and refuses to leave even when threatened by Rahul. The family does not know who Gabbar Singh really is and so they treat him as one of their own. But Gabbar has his own ulterior motives — to kill Karan and thereby seek revenge for all the miseries that Karan had caused him in childhood.The soundtrack was composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar. The album was released on the Venus label. The song "Main Chup Rahoon" became a popular number and reached its peak position at #4 in the year 1995. The single CD published by Venus has 1- Hit Song-Main Chup Rahoon, 2-Hit Songs - Hum Hain Rehna, 3-Hariyali Matlab Kisi Aur Ke Haseen, 4-Hit Songs - Tere Mere Sapne & 5-Pyaar Ke Pukare (Remix Version). This is to be considered as one of the most successful soundtrack of Bollywood music industry. Later it was remixed by the original composer of the movie A. R. Rahman and it became a huge success. The remix version is not available on any CD of the movie but only on audio cassette of the movie.The film received mixed reviews from critics, although Rani Mukerji and Kajol's performances were well received and appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
