If you have already purchased the game on the PS3, you can download this free copy of the game and be able to play it without any restrictions. It does not activate or unlock any new features, but the game is running in your local profile and does not interfere with any of your other games.
Company of Heroes is a tactical-strategic game that shares elements of popular titles such as World War II-era games, Red Alert 2, and Half-Life 2. The game's story mode takes place between the Ardennes offensive in 1944 and the liberation of Paris, and features several different campaigns featuring historical Allied and German forces.
Players control a unit of World War II soldiers that engage in intense tactical combat using a variety of units and weapons such as rifles, light machine guns, and flame throwers. Each soldier can gain experience to level up their skills, and be able to purchase different vehicles for more specific tactical purposes. A variety of vehicles are available, including tanks, half-tracks, Jeeps, and other small vehicles.
As the war progresses, new technology will become available to the player. For example, the player may gain access to sophisticated anti-tank weaponry such as the flamethrower, and will be able to replace their infantry with new infantry units such as paratroopers and gliders.
Gameplay is enhanced with several different game modes such as Point-and-click, Team Death Match, Capture the Flag, and other new modes developed by the team at Relic.
